The Tummy Tuck Procedure
Tummy tuck begins with an incision made in the lower abdomen from one hip to the other, creating a skin flap. Next, the skin is separated from the abdominal muscles, which are then tightened by internal sutures, narrowing the waistline and flattening the midsection. The flap of skin is then folded down and excess skin is removed. Lastly, the umbilicus (belly button) is repositioned and the incision is stitched closed. The entire procedure takes two and three hours. If you’re planning to become pregnant in the near future it may be best to wait until after to have this procedure.
Recovery In Cabo
An overnight hospital stay to a few days in some cases is usually required, followed by a few weeks rest with no exercising. A compression garment will be needed to be worn post-op for six weeks to help the healing process. The area will often be swollen and bruised in appearance for a few weeks.
