How To Get Here

Airlines:

Many commercial airlines serve nearby San Jose Del Cabo International airport (sjd).  Cabo San Lucas has a small general aviation airport suitable for small jets and prop planes only.  Remember International Commercial flights do not land in Cabo San Lucas airport.  You will arrive and depart from San Jose del Cabo International (SJD). Airfare costs from $200 to $600 r/t from all major US airports with advance purchase.  Yahoo Travel scans 40 other sites for you and sometimes the airline Internet sites have specials better than Yahoo’s.

Alternative Transportation:

Motor Coach from Tijuana - You’ll enjoy 20 hours  watching American cartoons in Spanish and memorable bus stop cuisine.  Automobile - 2-3 days of driving from San Diego with an overnight in Guerro Negro, Santa Rosalia, or Loreto.

Some people come to Cabo by private yacht, kayak and even burro.  One British school teacher walked, pushed and cursed his burro all the way down the Baja peninsula a few years ago.  Then wrote a charming book about it.

Ground Transportation:

We recommend the shuttle (most economical) from the airport or private taxi. If you prefer a private limo please advise and we will make the arrangements.

We cover your local ground transportation to and from the clinic or hospital in Los Cabos. Most of the larger hotels have free ground transportation around Los Cabos for when you want to go out shopping, dining, the movie theater etc.

If you need personal assistance because of your physical condition – pre or post op - let us know and we will arrange for an assistant to help you.

Rental Cars:

Major ones here include: Dollar, Payless, Budget, Avis etc.  Best to rent one on the Internet or you’ll pay a premium when renting it here.

Local Buses:

$2 will get you to Cabo from San Jose del Cabo 20 miles away.  Chicken buses – ones with the destinations painted on the windows cost 8 pesos  and tour downtown, the beach, and barrios. Bus drives cannot accept American or Canadian small change. Buses do not access the airport – The taxi union and shuttles have a lock on it.
